The Northern Knights held their first home game of the season upon the familiar territory of RAMS Arena. The ever-ready Knights fronted up to the Sandringham Dragons, with a sword in hand ready to defend their unblemished start to the season.

Knights debutants Guilia Ceravolo and Ellie McKenzie played solid roles, Ceravolo proved handy down back and McKenzie chipped in with a goal and multiple forward entries. Gabrielle Newton proved again why she is part of the AFLW National Academy, with her attack on the ball and her elite ability to read the play.

Eleanor Brown led from the front for the Dragons with great contested ball work and consistent repeat efforts around the ground.

With their backs against the wall and only points the difference in the scoreline, the Knights stormed home in the fourth with renewed gusto.  League-leading goal kicker, Alyssa Bannan added to her tally and Britney Gutknecht displayed her grit in the tight moments.
