Northern Knights straight kicking couldn’t quite punish Oakleigh Chargers’ missed oppurtunities in front of goal going down by 25 points.
Oakleigh could have won by a lot more than the 25-point margin suggested, but 22 behinds kept the Knights well within the game.
Northern made the most of opportunities in front of goal, kicking 12.3, but Oakleigh managed to find the big sticks in the final term and run-away victors (Knights 12.3.75 to Chargers 13.22.100).
Northern could not have dreamt of a better start as Joel Naylor hit Mark Baker on a lead, who hit up Stefan Uzelac for the first goal of the game in the opening minutes.
More to come
